You may notice a few changes in this month's Technology Bulletin.
We've moved to a cleaner, crisper appearance, but still aim to provide great information in a clear and easily understandable format.
Our subscribers are a diverse group of people, including consultants and designers, electrical contractors, building owners and facility managers, and electrical wholesalers and lighting suppliers.
This monthly technical bulletin is one way in which we attempt to meet the needs of these very different groups by sharing information on what’s new in our industry, and in the wider world of technology, and offering ways in which we can assist.
If you received this email directly to your inbox it is because you have subscribed via our website, or have had previous dealings with our company and indicated you would like to be kept up to date with developments in our industry. If our monthly bulletins are no longer of interest, you can of course unsubscribe at any time via the footer of any email.
Look forward to catching up with some of you soon at the IESANZ Specifiers exhibition in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland (further details in Bulletin below).
Sincerely
The Intelligent Environments Team
Our Views
Control solutions are no longer about dimming lights or turning them on and off!
An integrated system designed to meet your specific needs may include lighting but also covers emergency lighting, monitoring systems, wellness, building analytics, and much more. It should assist you in meeting organisational goals whether around sustainability, power saving, or the health and wellbeing of your people.
Your building technology partner should not only ensure you’re getting the very best control solutions but should also provide you with lifetime support to ensure the longevity of your system. This allows you to continue to optimise your building's intelligence and allow for future initiatives to create smarter, more efficient spaces.
A lighting upgrade may be necessary for a variety of reasons.
Perhaps your company has sustainability goals? You may be wanting to reduce power costs. Or perhaps the ban on the manufacturing of fluorescent tubes has made the replacement of existing fittings more urgent?
Whatever your reasons, advances in simple, low-cost technology to control your lighting, mean any lighting upgrade should include the ability to ensure lights are not left burning in unoccupied rooms or areas.

Sustainability and other “green” topics such as the “Circular Economy” are constantly in the news.
There has been a significant shift in attitudes with individuals and companies alike expressing a genuine desire to make a positive impact. This green revolution encompasses end clients, contractors, and manufacturers, all striving to be part of the movement. While it is widely understood that resources are depleting, the financial advantages of adopting sustainable practices are becoming increasingly apparent from a business/financial standpoint.
Our building technology solutions can help monitor and measure the elements in your building that impact your people's health and wellbeing.
Smart sensors can monitor eCO2, temperature, eVoCs, humidity, sounds and pressure, as well as occupancy and light levels, so can be used to ensure optimal building performance.
In addition to biological or circadian lighting, (designed to support the sleep-wake cycle), lighting can also be used to create an environment that is perceived emotionally as comfortable and safe. This can be achieved by adding full-colour tuning to your building, not just tuneable white, but tuneable colour!
If you are looking at making some smart changes to your workplace, give us a call! Happy to chat about possibilities and options.
In each bulletin, we link to one or more posts from our blog. Our blogs are all available to view on our website.
We also offer a Resource Library on the website, continually being added to, and updated. There are specific areas for designers and consultants, for building owners and facility managers, for electrical contractors, and for third party integrators.
If there is anything else you’d like advice or help with, please just drop us a line.
