CASE STUDY
Swamp Ecosystem at Auckland Zoo

As part of Auckland Zoo’s $62 million South East Asia Jungle Track, the Swamp Forest dome brings the Indonesian rainforest to life, complete with native flora, aquatic life, and a tropical climate.

To create this immersive environment, Intelligent Environments was tasked with designing a lighting control solution that accurately replicates natural light cycles. The 400m² climate-controlled dome presented a unique challenge: delivering a consistent 12-hour daylight cycle despite Auckland’s variable weather.

DALI Control
How to Get What You Want

When the Spice Girls first sang

“Yo, I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want . . .”

. . . it is doubtful they were singing about DALI control.

However the lyrics certainly work when it comes to building technology. It simply must be two-way communication between the technology supplier and the client.
